Raimon Portell
Raimon Portell is a son of Barcelona, of Guinardó neighborhood. As a child, he wanted to be a painter and sculptor, but then chose literature instead. His first book is about a journey through the Andes from South to North. He has published lots of travel articles in magazines and newspapers and has been director of some travel magazines. He has also written about cooking, cinema, literature, history… Five of his books are about history. But it is as children’s books author that he has gotten more recognition. His trilogy, “La llum d’artús”, has been awarded the National Children’s Literature Award of the Ministry of culture; he also was granted the Premio Llibreter and Premio Crítica Serra d’Or. He has also worked as a teacher and professor, as an editor, and he has written economic studies… And well, he also has two amazing daughters.
