Ana Shirley leaves her school in Avonlea to study for a degree at Redmond University, leaving behind her island, the environment she grew up in and her best friends. Finding accommodation, visiting her hometown, dealing with suitors and making new friends becomes an adventure for the vital Anne, who must also face painful moments.
