Princess Jisun, from the Beongae dynasty, has disappeared. It all began with the attack: an inferno of mauve flames that not even the monks of the Sun were able to control. Nobody knows who’s behind it, nor that the princess has disappeared. Her brother, prince Jisoo Beongae, has to find her and her kidnappers, and this shall be carried out in secret, because the people responsible for the mauve flames could be anywhere: in other dynasties, in the ship that has arrived to the coast for the first time in sixteen years… or among the palace’s shadows.

Unfortunately, Jisoo will have to accept three traveling companions: Aiya, the monk of the Sun, rival to the Beongae; Dharani, a shameless dancer that masters the magic of Echo, and Conreth, a foreigner coming from the Continent under suspicious circumstances. In the meantime, somewhere in the empire, Bian, a girl without magic, makes a flower germinate.
